MOOV Chair Generates Electricity From Fidgety Sitters

Mar-03-16 The MOOV chair harnesses the motion of the user to generate enough electricity to charge a smartphone.

Currently in the working prototype phase, the MOOV is equipped with an array of piezoelectric crystals beneath the cushion that harness the motion of the user. The device to be charged can be plugged into a USB port in the arm, though there are no specifics yet as to how long charging will take. Regardless, the MOOV chair could take some of the shame out of sitting by letting users power their gadgets as they shift in their seat.
