NexD1 Prints Custom Circuit Boards

Dec-18-16 The NexD1 3D printer from Next Dynamics can be used to quickly print custom circuit boards at home.

The NexD1 printer is equipped with six proprietary “Digijet” print heads, which deposit a fine layer of the printing material on the chosen surface. That material is hardened by a UV laser one level at a time, and up to six different materials can be printed in to the mix. One of the materials, a conductive resin, is what allows the NexD1 to stand out from the pack. According to the team, the printed resin is as conductive as standard PCBs.
