Normal 3D-Printed Earbuds Make a Personalized Fit Affordable
Jul-11-14
The customizable earbuds from Normal are 3D-printed to ensure a comfortable, snug fit—and can be ordered via smartphone.

To specify the size and shape of the earbuds, users first take a photo of each ear—with a quarter in the shot for scale—using the Normal app and their smartphone's camera. That information is then sent to the company, along with the customer's color choices. Once the order has been received, Normal will 3D print the caps with a layer of soft-touch coating and ship the unit to the customer.

According to the company, the personalized fit will keep the earphones in place while still delivering high-quality sound.
