OctopusGripper Gives Robots a Gentler Grip

OctopusGripper Gives Robots a Gentler Grip
Mar-30-17
The OctopusGripper from Festo robotics was designed with an eye toward human and robot collaboration.

One of several different designs from Festo, the OctopusGripper features a soft silicon tentacle-like structure lined with suction cups. The arm is pneumatically controlled, and can grip a wide range of shapes securely.

The OctopusGripper is meant to work with the company’s BionicMotionRobot, which was created to offer a robot able to work safely and nimbly alongside humans.

This goes beyond standard conception of finger digit manipulation, may I refer you to this same site for DHL requirement for a robotic selection pack and stack machine, competition.
Secondly for the simplist hand finger digit movement, I have made, coiled springs with coils releaved at bend points with flexible internal tubing connected using either hydaulics or pneumatics,
Offers 0-90 degree movement,by bulging and forcing open spring ,multiples of arrangement offer hands and other concepts with minimumn complications.
