Office 3.0 Offers Personalized Climate Control

Office 3.0 Offers Personalized Climate Control
Jun-07-16
The innovative Office 3.0 personal climate system would reduce energy costs by adjusting in real time to suit the needs of the building’s occupants.

Developed by from Carlo Ratti Associati, the Office 3.0 was designed to “synchronize energy usage and human occupancy within buildings,” reducing energy use by up to 40 percent. Once installed, the system would allow workers to set their ideal temperature, for example, creating a sort of “thermal bubble” that will follow them through the building. The Office 3.0 can also detect an empty room and set the conditions in standby mode, offering further energy savings, and will gather data on the occupancy patterns of the rooms, for efficient planning and configurations.
