Onewheel Self-Balancing Electric Skateboard

 Onewheel Self-Balancing Electric Skateboard
Jan-15-14
Inspired by the idea of riding a snowboard during the summer, the Onewheel self-balancing electric skateboard was designed to ‘revolutionize the riding experience.’

Already surpassing its funding goal on Kickstarter, the Onewheel is equipped with an electric in-wheel motor and can travel at speeds up to 12 mph with a range of 4 to 6 miles. The Onewheel is controlled by an algorithm the team has been working on for years, which allows the gyro and accelerometer sensors to determine the exact rate of speed based on how the rider leans their body—leaning forward will cause the device to increase its speed, and leaning backwards will slow it down.

I am 73. Even after many years of Telemark (Langlauf) Biathlon skiing, and snow boarding for the first time at 60. There is no way I could trust myself on a one wheel (well I'd have a go, and would probably master the rudiments of it.) BUT as a long term activity it would be foolhardy. Therefore it would be a simple addition to make a three wheel with the drive wheel in the front with multi piviting steering and the braking sencers and reverse on the back wheels.
Good luck. I want one.
