Paper-Based Foldscope Makes Science Accessible

Paper-Based Foldscope Makes Science Accessible
Nov-27-16
Costing less than a dollar to produce, the paper Foldscope microscope makes science accessible—and is now available to the public.

The Foldscope was created by Stanford physicist Manu Prakash, who is known for making low-cost versions of high-tech equipment. His most popular creation, the Foldscope can be manufactured for between 57 and 97 cents. The paper-based microscope can be assembled origami-style, and is small enough to be carried in a pocket or bag, encouraging exploration and more “aha” scientific moments.

How are you getting this out to the masses of children that would benefit from your invention?
