PaperFold Smartphone Features Three Displays

PaperFold Smartphone Features Three Displays
May-01-14
The foldable PaperFold smartphone prototype can be configured to include three e-ink displays able to perform separate functions or provide extra screen real estate.

The PaperFold can be opened and folded into different shapes, such as a small notebook shape or wide-open map. Each of the flexible e-ink displays can operate independently, and the device will automatically recognize its shape and change its graphics to provide different functionalities—such as offering a keyboard at the bottom when folded into the notebook shape.

According to the team, the PaperFold was inspired by paper, which "can be folded, detached or combined allowing it to be accessed in multiple parallel forms."
