Plantable Packaging

Plantable Packaging
May-11-11
A new zero-waster packaging system for fruits and vegetables is extremely minimalistic, completely biodegradable, and can be planted.

Ben Huttly, a student at the Arts University College at Bournemouth (UK) developed the new packaging from unbleached cotton string and an ink-free, laser cut tag. The tag has been created from tiny seeds of the plant it labels that will sprout when planted, in turn producing the next crop of vegetables and fruits.
