Point and Shoot DroneDefender Stops UAVs With Radio Beams

Point and Shoot DroneDefender Stops UAVs With Radio Beams
Oct-17-15
The DroneDefender from Battelle takes down unauthorized or threatening UAVs by jamming their control system and stopping them in midair.

Hailed as the first portable, accurate and quick-response tool for countering drones, the DroneDefender jams the drone’s control system (including any outside commands) and GPS navigation with a radio beam fired in a 30° cone. The system has a range of up to 1300 feet, can be activated in less than a second, and requires no special training to operate.

According to the developers, the DroneDefender should be able to deactivate the drone and stop it in midair, reducing the chance of the drone injuring someone by falling to the ground.
