Portable Power Plant Harnesses Fuel from CO2

Portable Power Plant Harnesses Fuel from CO2
Nov-13-16
A tiny power plant able to create fuel from CO2 in the air could offer a new way to help combat climate change.

Developed by the Finnish startup IneraTec as part of Soletair Project, the portable, solar-powered system includes a unit that will extract the carbon dioxide from the air and transport it to the reactor. There, the CO2 will be converted to fuel (gasoline, kerosene, or diesel) via electrolysis.

The system is small enough to fit in a shipping container, and the team believes it could be used one day to harvest fuel from sewage plants or generate energy on organic farms.
