Print On The Fly Print System Allows for Mid-Print Changes

Print On The Fly Print System Allows for Mid-Print Changes
Jun-01-16
The on-the-fly 3D-print system lets CAD designers alter the design while it is being printed.

Created by a team from Cornell, the system takes advantage of a WirePrint technique, which creates the structure’s frame with a thin stream of resin. While the printer nozzle remains stationary, the printer’s stage can be rotated so that any face of the model can be positioned facing up. The removable stage also allows the model to be taken out of the printer and measured or tested, and then replaced to continue printing.
