Q Fan Blows More Air Than It Draws

Q Fan Blows More Air Than It Draws
Apr-06-15
The spherical Q fan from Panasonic can cool and circulate the air in a room more quietly and more efficiently that standard bladed fans.

Instead of blades, the Q fan is equipped with a network of channels and a "turbofan" that increases the airflow pressure before releasing it through the holes in the unit. This arrangement produces extra airflow around the holes and allows the device to blow about seven times as much air as it pulls in. The Q fan also features a "1/f fluctuation" that varies the airflow for greater comfort and more natural feel.
