Regenerative Walkway Harvests Its Own Power

Regenerative Walkway Harvests Its Own Power
Dec-03-14
The wind- and solar-powered regenerative walkway from Rayworks Design could be adapted to fit a range of applications.

The covered walkway, entered as part of the Taipei International Design Competition, would harness solar energy through the roof-mounted, semi-transparent photovoltaic cells (which also allow sunlight to filter into the shelter). Optional, vertical-axis windmills would sit atop each station, harvesting wind energy, and the two sources combined would create enough electricity to power to power the walkway's lights and displays.
