RollerSafe Street Skis Let You Put on the Brakes

Feb-14-13 Street skiing may have become a bit safer with the RollerSafe street skis, which feature a wireless disc-braking system.

Designed by Atle Stubberud, who conceived the idea while living in hilly San Francisco, the RollerSafe skis feature a hydraulic braking system controlled by a receiver in the ski. A trigger-based mechanism in the pole handle allows the user to control their speed with a simple finger motion, slowing or even stopping their ride.
