Saliva-Powered Battery

Saliva-Powered Battery
Aug-10-17
An innovative paper battery able to run on saliva can generate enough energy to power an LED.

The paper-based battery was developed by a team at Binghamton University using exoelectrogens--specialized, freeze-dried bacterial cells able to send electricity outside their cell walls. When these cells are made wet with saliva, they ‘wake up,’ and are able to generate power in just minutes.
