Self-Folding Origami

Jun-29-10 Researchers at MIT have created self-folding origami by outfitting a thin sheet of fiberglass with motorized switches and flexible electronics, then feeding it an algorithm for folding.

The technology could be used for deploying folding solar panels or antennas. Or opening a carton of soup for the disabled.
