Self Powering Nano-Transmitter

Self Powering Nano-Transmitter
Jun-19-11
A team of scientists working with DARPA and the Department of Energy have developed the first self powering nano-device that is also able to transmit over long distances.

The nanogenerator is able to harness mechanical vibrations as small as a person's pulse to generate and store enough energy to transmit wirelessly to a receiver up to 30 feet away. The device has a multitude of applications, including medical sensors powered by blood flow and environmental sensors powered by the flow of air.
