Just like plants, these tiny solar cells can restore themselves if damaged by the sun. When in direct sunlight, leaves repair themselves every 45 minutes. Mimicking their regenerative ability, scientists have been able to devise a set of self-assembling molecules that can convert sunlight into electricity, and won't degrade over time.
