Skin Making Robots

Skin Making Robots
Apr-19-11
A recently opened factory in Germany uses robots to produce human skin.

The factory produces circles of skin the size of a penny and is able to produce 5000 discs of skin each month. Different shades of brown are available, and each disc of skin sells for around $72. The skin is controlled by computers and produced by robots in a sterile setting, where they monitor the skin broth and cut the pieces of skin.

So far the skin has only been used in animal and cosmetic testing, and is not yet transplant quality.
