The c-walker is a high-tech walker designed to make it easier for people with cognitive difficulties to maneuver through buildings and other public spaces.

Developed as part of the DALi project, the c-walker is equipped with an array of imaging sensors, including a Kinect, that allow the system to monitor its surroundings in real time. The c-Walker is able to keep track of its own location as well the location of obstacles, the direction other people are moving and can read signs, enabling it to guide the user along the safest and most efficient routes.

The system also has applications in industrial settings, where it could allow people to interact more safely with machines, warn workers before they enter dangerous areas and guide technicians through the factory along the best routes.
