Designed for patients with conditions such as COPD or asthma, the SmartTouch is meant to be installed on the patient’s Symbicort inhaler, where it will communicate with a paired smartphone or tablet. Once in place, the device will record each time the medication is used. Along with encouraging patient compliance via a motivational app, the system also allows the physician to track usage and change medication if necessary.
