Softwheel's Wheels are Smooth on Stairs

Apr-29-14 A new suspension-equipped wheel lets wheelchairs or bikes roll smoothly over stairs or rough terrain.

Developed by the startup Softwheel, the wheel features the company's Selective Suspension Technology. When the wheel impacts an object above a certain threshold, the suspension system will activate, shifting its three spokes and hub to help smooth out the bump. The threshold can be pre-set by the user.

Softwheel's line currently includes two models: the Acrobat wheel for wheelchairs and the Fluent wheel for bikes.
