Space-Based RoboGlove Sets its Sights on Earth

Space-Based RoboGlove Sets its Sights on Earth
Jul-06-16
Developed for use on the Space Station, the RoboGlove may soon be finding its way into applications here on Earth.

Designed in collaboration between GM and NASA, the RoboGlove was created to provide the wearer with more gripping strength, and is equipped with an array of sensors and actuator that mimic the musculature of the human hand. Now, the glove has been refined a bit by Bioservo Technologies for use in different settings, including manufacturing and healthcare. The first iteration of the new glove will feature a grasp-assist device that will allow the user to grasp an object (such as a wrench) for a longer time, with no muscle strain.
