Superflex Suit Adds Power When Needed

Superflex Suit Adds Power When Needed
Jun-04-16
A softer take on robotic exoskeletons, the Superflex suit is designed to offer the disabled and elderly an extra boost of mobility.

The suit was created by the SRI International spin-off, Superflex, and aims to provide added mobility while still maintaining the user’s dignity—a consideration the team believes is absent in most mobility assistive devices. The Softflex suit fits over the body, where it will deliver a burst of added power or support when needed. And because the system will learn the wearer’s habits and only add assist when it is most likely to be needed, it also demands less battery power.
