The iBrailler Notes App Makes Tablets More Accessible

The iBrailler Notes App Makes Tablets More Accessible
Feb-15-15
The iBrailler Notes app automatically draws a tablet's keys to fit the hands, making the flat devices much more accessible to the visually-impaired.

The use the app works by registering the placement of the user's fingertips when their hands are placed on the screen. Once the fingertips are recognized, the app "draws" the keys around them—eight in total, just like a conventional Braille writing tool. The keys can be re-calibrated by lifting the hands and then placing them back on the screen, and the app can support different Braille formats, including mathematics and other languages.
