The WAZER desktop waterjet cutter can cut almost any material, and costs much less than conventional systems.
The WAZER waterjet lets users take advantage of the known precision cutting abilities of waterjet cutters, but without the large equipment or high cost. Developed by a team from University of Pennsylvania grads, the WAZER connects to a computer to access the drawing file, and then uses a mixture of water and abrasive particles called “garnet” to cut through the material using micro-erosion. The high-pressure, abrasive mixture is non-toxic and easy to dispose of, and the entire system is simple to learn and use.
