A wearable, flexible throat sensor is being called a game-changer in stroke rehabilitation.
While stroke victims may show significant improvement during their clinic rehabilitation, they often show a decline in gains when they return home. To help physicians monitor the patient's process once they leave the hospital, the stretchable sensor attaches comfortably to the throat, where it tracks an array of data including sleep, swallowing, speech patterns and heart rate. The information can be streamed wirelessly to a paired device, keeping both the patient and the doctors informed of the progress of rehabilitation goals.
