Wearable Tracks Emotions

Wearable Tracks Emotions
Sep-18-16
A wearable device that monitors emotions could have applications in the military and for dementia patients.

The device, from a team at Missouri University of Science and Technology, is able to measure the wearer’s galvanic skin response to monitor their emotional state. When combined with the tracker’s other data, including heart and respiration rate and movement tracking, the device can help caregivers keep tabs on a patient’s location and well-being. The device could able be used to monitor soldiers’ responses during training, allowing trainers to pinpoint areas where the recruits are struggling.
