Withings Home Monitors More Than Babies

Sep-08-14 More than your standard baby monitor, the Withings Home security device can be used for video conferencing, security and even detecting volatile compounds in the air.

The Withings Home is equipped with an HD camera with a 135-degree field of vision, night vision, and a two-way microphone, as well as motion sensors and a 'cry sensor,' which will cause it to activate, record the event, send an alert and store the video in the cloud. Chosen images and videos can be downloaded and saved, allowing users to create a sort of "Home Diary."

Most novel, however, is the Withings Home's ability to detect and notify users of, volatile organic compounds in the air, which are becoming more of a problem since people have begun closing windows and limiting air flow.
