WristWhirl Gives Joystick-Like Gesture Control

WristWhirl Gives Joystick-Like Gesture Control
Oct-15-16
The WristWhirl gesture control technology lets the user issue commands by manipulating an imaginary joystick.

Still in the prototype phase, the WristWhirl was developed by a team from Dartmouth University and is made up of a wrist-worn strap equipped with twelve infrared proximity sensors and a sensor able to detect movement. The system can identify and interpret a number of different gestures, which can then be translated into commands such as scrolling through a music library or manipulating a map.
