The Zone DPMX power meter for cyclists attaches to the rider’s shoe to track performance allow them to switch easily between bikes.
Developed by the start-up Brim Brothers, the Zone DPMX is claimed to be the world’s first wearable power meter for cyclists, and requires no extra attachments on the bike. Instead, the meter fits onto the shoe, sitting in place of the adapter plate between the sole and the cleat. A pod attaches to the top of the shoe, which will continuously monitor the position of the pedal and crank while the sensors in the plate detect the force. The combined data, which includes cadence and power in watts, is then sent to a paired device for review.
