Vern Burkhardt

Vern's education includes Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts (Sociology) degrees from the University of Alberta.

He has worked in both the private and public sectors.

His leadership positions have not only included CEO of major organizations but also thirteen years in numerous executive positions including Commodore at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

In 2001, Vern was given the Gold Award Winner for Leadership in recognition of his vision and leadership in establishing one of the best performing organizations and for his leadership in supply management. He was later awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of outstanding and exemplary contributions to his community and to Canada as a whole.

Vern's passion is sailboat racing, and he has logged over 45,000 nautical miles of offshore sailing and racing.
