It’s those agonizing moments where the brain is working overtime, but still the sentences don’t come. Often you wish the ground would swallow you up or that there was some kind of help at hand.

Fear not, as there is a new crowdsourcing app called Crowdpilot that’s designed to get people out of these sticky situations.

The clever piece of software lets users crowdsource their conversations by bringing a group of people to listen in and assist in any way they can.

Let the Crowd put Words in Your Mouth

The concept allows users to invite their Facebook friends or strangers to listen to real-time conversations on a date, meeting or family gathering for example. They can then offer suggestions about what to do or say.

Crowdpilot users can also become part of the crowd and help others out of difficult conversational moments.

Neat Idea

Crowdpilot is the brainchild of designer Lauren McCarthy. She came up with the idea following a social experiment using Amazon’s Mechanical Turk platform. There she went on dates and the footage was live-streamed online. Workers were paid to tell her what to say, how to act and generally offer advice on how to make the numerous social situations easier to handle

The free crowdsourcing app is available on iTunes.
