A research conducted in China analyzed an algorithm developed to detect heart diseases through selfies. By taking a picture of your face, the algorithm can determine if you’re at risk of a heart disease by analyzing several indicators visible to the naked eye such as the absence of hair on certain parts of the body, yellow moles around the eyelids and white opaque rings around the cornea.

After the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster, it was crucial to developed methods to control the damage done by oil spills.

A team of researchers have developed a new material that is non-cuttable. They called this new material Proteus,and has a 15% steel density. This materials is made of ceramic spheres, organized in a cellular aluminum structure, inspired by the skin of grapefruits. This structure allows it to withstand angle grinders, drills, and other brute-force tools.

A team of researchers from Tulane University have developed a hybrid device that generates electricity and steam using the Sun's energy. In order to capture the Sun's energy, you can use solar panels, or solar concentrators that captures the Sun's heat instead of it's light. Typically, the two options are used separately, but this new device uses both process at the same time, in a more cost-efficient way.
