Digiglasses Offer Personalized Vision Enhancement

Nov-26-14 The Digiglasses headset for the visually impaired can adjust and enhance a projected image based on the user's individual needs.

The headset is made up of a pair of digital glasses with an optical display, cameras, software and a processor much like those found in smartphones. The software will enhance an image depending upon the wearer's need, such as increasing contrast , and display it on the glasses' micro display. Lenses and prisms enable the mirodisplay to appear as a large screen and make it easier to view.

Similar technology has already been used the gaming industry, but this is the first time it has been applied in this way.
