EEG Headset Offers Stroke Detection at Home

Jan-25-15 A new EEG headset from Samsung could allow individuals to take stress monitoring a step further by detecting the risk of a stroke.

Called the Early Detection Sensor & Algorithm Package (EDSAP), the headset system pairs with a smartphone to display ECG test results within a minute. With the help of a specially-designed algorithm, the system monitors the electrical impulses of the brainwaves to alert the user to an elevated stroke risk, increasing the chances of early intervention and treatment. The system can also be used over the long-term to monitor and analyze stress and sleep patterns.
