Flexible Wearable Battery

Flexible Wearable Battery
Oct-25-17
A flexible 3D-printed supercapacitor wristband could help usher in wearable electronic devices.

Developed by a team from Brunel University, the flexible supercapacitor is the first to be produced—including all its components—via a single continuous process. The researchers used a 3D printer to layer silicon, glue and gel electrolyte pastes with a supercapacitor sandwiched between the layers, creating a flexible material compared to a festival wristband.

The process is said to be easy to replicate, and could even be used to create more complex devices using different types of paste.
