Designed to help urban earthquake survivors reach safe shelter, the rather sleek and minimalist MINIM+AID emergency kit packs a bevy of handy tools into a slender tube.
Created by Nendo, the MINIM+AID kit includes a whistle, hand-operated crank radio, lantern, poncho, and small supply of drinking water, among other useful items. The hand-crank can also be used to charge the lantern and other small USB devices, and entire kit fits inside a two-inch thick, waterproof, floatable tube. The tube is even available in different colors, allowing it to blend with the home décor and be kept in an easily accessible place.
According to the designers, the MINIM+AID was designed to include “ the bare minimum necessary for a city-dweller to make it to a place of refuge during an earthquake or other disaster."
