SkyOrbiters Aim to Bring the Internet to Everyone

SkyOrbiters Aim to Bring the Internet to Everyone
Sep-23-14
The SkyOrbiter UAVs are designed to make internet access available to everyone by delivering connectivity from orbit.

Developed by the Portuguese company Quarkson, the SkyOrbiters will be available in a range of six different low-altitude models and three high-altitude models. The low-altitude models would be powered primarily by fossil fuels, which the company claims offers the best endurance, and will be able to stay in orbit for weeks. The high-altitude models, however, will harvest power through a solar array on their wings and will be able to maintain orbit for years.
