Small Sensor Detects Trapped Victims

Small Sensor Detects Trapped Victims
Apr-20-18
A small sensor array from the team at EFT Zurich could detect disaster victims trapped and hidden in rubble.

The small, inexpensive device is equipped with five sensors. Three of the sensors can detect chemicals emitted from breath or skin, while the other two detect humidity and CO2, which would also indicate the presence of a person. The device could be carried by hand or attached to a drone, and can detect the chemicals at an unprecedented three parts per billion.
