Rotary Fluid Device

The present invention relates to a Rotary Fluid Device; otherwise known as a Hydraulic Motor or Pump.

The Hydraulic Motor/Pump uses a novel Follower/Vane and Insert to achieve very high power density. This leads to high mechanical efficiency as a consequence. The prototype is 1/3 to 1/2 the weight of comparable designs on the market.

Other advantages include:

• Wide operating speed band
• Low torque ripple
• High starting torque
• Smooth and quiet operation

The prototype has a displacement of 100cc/rev and dimensions of 100mm wide x 100mm high x 145 mm long.

The Hydraulic Motor/Pump has applications in the mining, agricultural, construction, earthmoving, industrial, automotive (power steering and suspension systems) and robotic sectors.

Patents have been granted in the United States and China, with patents at various stages of acceptance in the European Union, Australia and Canada.
