Methanol Stripping from Bio-Diesel Waste Methanol Solutions
Methanol is widely used as a solvent in numerous chemical processes. Waste solutions from these processes often contain significant amount of residual methanol that is difficult to recover. A new methanol recovery technology using air stripping at a moderate temperature has been proposed. Almost all the methanol is recovered with high concentration from the waste solution using this technology.
Benefits
*High concentration of the recovered methanol makes it possible to recycle it in the process of bio-diesel production
Stage of Development
This technology is part of an active and ongoing research program. It is available for developmental research support/licensing under either exclusive or non-exclusive terms. Formal patentability opinion is being considered.
