Golden Opportunity to Pitch Global Business Leaders

Open Innovation Forum Pitch Event The Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge, UK is offering companies a chance to pitch their creative ideas and solutions to some of the biggest names in global business.

At the Open Innovation Forum Pitch Event which takes place on 11 March, 2013 companies can pitch such organizations as Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Heinz, General Mills, Siemens, Tate & Lyle, and BAT.

The panel members are all key decision makers within their firms, tasked with scouting for and acquiring innovation and technology from outside their organizations either through licensing, acquisition, research funding or other mechanisms.

They are looking for innovation partners in the following areas:

  • Life sciences
  • Materials
  • Manufacturing
  • IT/electronics
  • Marketing and business models

Up to 15 companies will be shortlisted to take part in the event, and each will be given five minutes to pitch, followed by a five minute question and answer session, and then two minutes’ worth of feedback. The panel will then chose the winners in a number of categories. And who knows, perhaps this could be the start of fruitful relationships with global business behemoths.

How to Enter

To be in with a chance of making a pitch to the panel, companies must complete the online entry form, detailing their background, innovative solution, which one of the identified needs they are tackling, and their technology readiness.

These entries will be judged on how well they address the innovation needs, the degree of innovation, and the scope for commercialization.

Submission must be made by 31 January 2013. Shortlisted companies will be notified by 8 February 2013.
