Rio Tinto is seeking new technologies and solutions for sorting and separating of fine particles (e.g. small-grain minerals) within their operations. The challenge winner will receive funding for an initial proof-of-concept pilot, as well as additional support and collaboration from our organization. These mineral grains may be small, but the business opportunity is big, given the scope and scale of our operations.

Our Challenge: How can we identify and sort between higher-quality mineral grains and lower-quality ones when these minerals are small and moving in a continual feed system?
