With shipping traffic growing at an accelerated rate, there are increased chances of accidents, piracy, illegal fishing, drug trafficking, and illegal cargo movement. This causes concern and a great deal of effort from not only environmental agencies and insurance companies but also the ship owners as well.

Over the past 10 years a lot of improvements have been made to automatically show objects like ships from satellite images, but no effective operational effects have been discovered.

Now Airbus is turning to you to increase the accuracy and speed of automatic ship detection!
