I have created a lot of tools and devices to make day to day life simpler. This is outside of the problem solving context, but indeed are solutions to little problems.
1. dry-erase marker holder: holds the caps in a block of wood that attaches to the wall. markers are easily accessible.
2. Pulley system and platform to store seasonal clothes up against the ceiling in a closet during the off season. platform drops from the ceiling for easy loading and is easily cranked up out of the way.
3. TV Remote control holder: velcro remotes to a cleverly shaped piece of plexiglass that allows them to all be accessible at the same time. Each remote can be easily removed for independent use.
4. Ear Ring rack: simple tracks mounted on a wall to capture loop and post type of earrings.
... There are literally 30 or 40 of these. These items are created for personal use and are serving their roles quite well in my home.
