Methodology
------------------------------------------------
This new software and hardware sensor system is composed of unique, deep ultraviolet, lasers and light emitting semiconductor devices. These core components are combined with various sensors and other instrumentation and delivered in an extremely small sensing platform, 2.5”x2.5”x10”. This platform:

1) measures Rayleigh, Raman, fluorescence and phosphorescence characteristics of the materials targeted within 50 microseconds,
2)processes the data acquired using a proprietary real time algorithm,
3)compares the unknown substance’s signature profile with the signature of a set of known chemical compounds and composites stored in an onboard, field trainable library,
4)and does so in less than 1 millisecond.

Applications

This technology is deployable in any situation or within any measurement process or manufacturing system requiring unparalleled speed, efficiency and specificity. It is:

* Reagentless: It is a non contact, non destructive sensor without the need for sample handling or preparation.
* Fast: Performs detection, analysis and classification of targets in less than 1 millisecond.
* Solar Blind: Performs detection in full daylight or room light conditions without compensation.
* Self Calibrating: Automatically adjusts to compensate for ambient air temperatures and/or degradation of components.

This sensor package is applicable to a variety of industrial applications such as monitoring municipal and industrial waste or agriwater, determining concentration and component information for the food and beverage industry, determining the presence and types of bacteria and other contaminants within drug and other clean room manufacturing processes and detecting minute vitiations in manufactured product quality for the semiconductor, chemical, agricultural, or mined products industries.
