Archerfish ROV Destroys Sea Mines

Apr-16-16 The Archerfish ROV from BAE Systems patrols the ocean for sea mines, and then destroys them.

In development for some time, the Archerfish differs from other mine-destroying drones in that it can be deployed from a helicopter as well as from a ship on the surface. Once launched, the Archerfish can be guided by remote to the mine, which the team is able to view via sonar and low light video. When the mine is located, the team can then trigger the Archerfish to shoot an explosive charge and destroy it.
