Astrobees Will Soon Be Working on the ISS
Apr-09-19
Robotic Astrobees will soon be assisting astronauts with housekeeping and inspections on the ISS.

The Astrobees were created by the team at NASA to take some of the routine task load off the humans. The one-foot cube robots will travel in the zero-gravity environment with the help of six fans—one on each surface—taking readings with assorted sensors and manipulating the environment with a specialized grasping claw when necessary. The Astrobees are equipped with a touchscreen, speaker and microphone for communication, as can be remotely manipulated to allow controllers to inspect the space station from the ground.
